Canadian Business Law

COURSE DESCRIPTION AND OBJECTIVES

This course is designed to provide the student with an overview of Canadian Business law and an understanding of basic legal terminology. The major emphasis is on contract law, since contracts are the foundation of all commercial transactions. Topics will include a study of the requirements for creating a legally binding contract, as well as some common errors to be avoided. Various types of contracts with special uses will also be examined. The law of contract enforcement will also be reviewed. The primary objective of the course is to give sufficient background in the law to be of assistance for whatever occupation the student may undertake.
